Washington Capitals 5, Calgary Flames 4 (SO) (From Washington) - The Capitals rebounded from a 6-4 loss on opening night to the Blackhawks, winning their home debut 5-4 in a shootout over Calgary after coming back from 3-0 and 4-1 defecits. Captain Alexander Ovechkin lead the way with 2 goals, 1 assist and the shootout winning goal.

Interesting Stat of the Night - Speaking of Vrbata, he not only scored 3 goals but earned a very rare "natural hat trick." For those who don't know what that is, it is when a player scores 3 straight goals in a game, something that doesn't happen pretty often.
