It was revealed by the Lightning that Stamkos suffered a broken tibia on the play, and he is out indefinitely. This is a massive blow for both the Lightning and Canada as Stamkos will likely miss Sochi 2014. A broken tibia likely has a 4-6 month recovery time, although we will wait until Stamkos has his surgery to determine the length he is out. 2. Ben Bishop - Bishop continued his hot start to the season with a 31 save shutout, his 1st shutout of the season. Bishop is now 8-2-0 on the season for the Lightning, who stand at an impressive 9-4-0.
1. Joel Ward - The Caps had a number of big performances in a 7-0 thrashing of the Flyers (Backstrom 2 goals 1 assist, Chimera 1 goal 3 assists, Grabovski 3 assists, Holtby shutout), but Joel Ward had the biggest with a hat trick, the 1st of his career.
Interesting Stat of the Night - The Flyers and Capitals picked up a combined 164 penalty minutes in the brawl-filled game, including 99 from the Flyers. Of the penalty minutes, 114 of the 164 was picked up in that brawl 5:31 into the 3rd.
